About The Role
Our creators are the product. A small, hyper-engaged group of them are already building the games that make Astrocade worth showing up for — and right now, serving them well is a manual job that doesn't scale. As our Community Manager, you'll change that: you'll build the direct relationships with our top creators, and you'll build the systems — bots, automations, referral and payout infrastructure — that make sure no creator is ever left unattended. We benchmark everything. You'll own our single north-star metric for community engagement. This is a hands-on, in-the-Discord role with real ownership over the systems underneath it — we care as much about how you simplify the operation as how you grow it.
What You'll Do
- Own the health and growth of our creator community — you'll define the metrics, track them on a real-time dashboard, and answer for them company-wide
- Build direct relationships with our top creators: make them feel seen, get the most out of their work, and turn them into the center of gravity for everyone else
- Automate creator service end to end — bug reporting, general knowledge, and escalation bots — so support scales past what a person can do by hand
- Recruit, train, and manage our moderator team to a high bar of quality and 24/7 coverage
- Ideate and run gamejams, AMAs and ongoing challenges/competitions that seed and test new forms of content
- Own the referral program and the creator payout system — strategy, infrastructure, and monitoring
- Act as the connective tissue between the community and our tech, product, and marketing teams, so creator-facing comms reflect what creators actually care about
- Use the product every day like the rest of us: play the games, build with the tools, ship things
You'd Be a Great Fit If You
- Have 5–10+ years in community management for consumer or tech products, likely carrying a Senior CM, Community Lead, or Head of Community title today
- Have run, optimized, and grown a community before — not just maintained one
- Think in metrics and in simplicity: you'd rather consolidate five half-working systems into one good one than add a sixth
- Deeply care about creators, with real empathy for what they're trying to make
- Stay positive and steady in chaos — your emotions never leak into how you communicate
- Are hyper-organized and communicative, and always on top of it (either responding directly or routing mods to handle it)
- Have genuine curiosity to use and create with the product, not just manage the channel around it
- Are Bay Area based and able to work onsite in Palo Alto
Bonus Points
- Have managed and grown Discord servers at scale
- Come from gaming, streaming, or Discord-native companies (Discord, Twitch, Roblox, Riot, Supercell, Rec Room, Medal, Epic, Unity)
- Have run creator programs at creator/fan platforms (Whatnot, Sleeper, Fandom, Patreon, Substack)
- Have built bots, automations, or internal tooling to make community ops scale
