About the Role

The Community Manager serves as the strength of the property by administering and supervising the overall management of a multi-family property. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the global governance of the property, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, and other applicable laws and regulations. A heavy emphasis is placed on compliance processes for certifications and HAKC reporting.

Reports to: Regional Property Supervisor, Regional Vice President, Vice President, Owner, and/or Owner’s representative.

Supervises: Entire on-site staff.

Responsibilities

  • All functions related to multi-family property leasing.
  • All functions related to multi-family property marketing.
  • All functions related to multi-family resident relations.
  • Generate and maximize property income.
  • Monitor, maintain, and control property expenses.
  • Ensure accurate and on-time submission of all reports.
  • Understand, analyze, and correct property financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor, supervise, and direct the entire property team.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as Company’s HR policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in multi-family property management.
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) preferred.
  • Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
  • Active/participatory apartment association membership preferred.

Skills

  • Proven employment history in property management, sales, marketing, and customer service.
  • Supervisory skills sufficient to hire, lead, direct, and evaluate on-site team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, contractors, and clients.
  • Proficiency in mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in property management software(s) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, OSHA Requirements, EEOC Laws, and local, city, and state ordinances.

Qualifications

  • Compliance and recertification experience.
  • Organized leader capable of ensuring deadlines and goals are achieved.
  • Strong attention to detail and resident services to ensure property success.
