Community Liaison

Position Summary

The Community Liaison directly serves as the liaison between the facility, the community, and referring agencies. The Business Development Representative is responsible for creating demand for the facility’s services through ethical marketing principles and sales methods, presenting a positive and professional public image, implementing the facility’s strategic sales plan, enhancing the brand, managing assigned territory and accounts, and achieving departmental and facility business development goals. The role requires tact, resourcefulness, patience, dedication, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Hours are based on departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between Fairfax Behavioral Health, the community, and referring agencies.
• Create demand for the facility’s services using ethical marketing and sales methods.
• Present a positive and professional public image of the facility within the community.
• Implement the facility’s strategic sales plan and enhance its brand/image.
• Effectively manage assigned territory and accounts.
• Work toward departmental and facility business development goals.
• Demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication in a fast‑paced environment.
• Adapt to varied work hours, including day, evening, and weekend as directed by the Director of Business Development.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
• Experience: Prior marketing and/or sales experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred; minimum three years of documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge & Skills:
  • Familiarity with the Fairfax Behavioral Health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets, referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment, and age‑specific programming.
  • Demonstrated business development concepts and sales abilities.
  • Competency in computer usage and excellent written and oral communication.
  • Application of marketing and sales principles, creativity, flexibility, data collection/analysis, adherence to deadlines, and strong customer service.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight travel as required.
