Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Residence Life & Safety in the day-to-day management of Residence Life and Safety.
  • Hours will consist mainly of weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • This position is for the academic year and candidates will be required to reapply for continued employment.

Essential Functions

  • Occupy designated living quarters throughout employment.
  • Create a residential community that enhances the students’ academic, developmental, and personal lives.
  • Encourage student participation in residence halls and college-sponsored events, clubs, and organizations.
  • Monitor and be a presence in campus buildings and grounds for unlawful or inappropriate activity.
  • Enforce policies and rules of the residence halls and student code of conduct.
  • Ensure the safety of students by conducting building evacuations and providing instruction.
  • Unlock and secure appropriate buildings and rooms.
  • Inspect buildings for illegal entry or criminal damage.
  • Auxiliary with move-in and move-out of all units.
  • Understand and resolve minor building issues, security alarms.
  • Conduct room inspections, corrective follow-ups, and assess damage to college property.
  • Annually review and provide feedback for Residence Life policies, rules, and regulations and housing contracts.
  • Assist in supervising, training, and evaluating all housing resident assistants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Residence Life & Safety.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.

Salary Range

Room and Board in lieu of payment.

Position Status

Part-time/on call.
