Position Summary
The Community Habilitation Worker assists individuals with disabilities in achieving greater independence and self-fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Implementing individual's community habilitation plans
- Assisting and training in daily living skills such as: cooking, cleaning, shopping
- Assisting program participants in developing a strong personal network within their community
- Complying with all agency standards, rules, practices, policies, procedures, and medication administration
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a team environment
- Flexibility to meet program needs
- Knowledge of and respect for diverse populations
- High School Diploma or GED with one year of paid employment, community service and/or training is a plus
- Human service experience is desired
Other Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Use of a vehicle and willingness to transport program participants in a personal and/or agency vehicle
- Desire to do meaningful work and make a difference in someone's life
This is a part-time position with a work schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
