Community Engagement Volunteer
About the role
National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating homelessness among veterans in Central Florida. Founded in 2008, NVHS takes a proactive, community-based approach to helping veterans and their families overcome housing instability and build a path toward long-term stability and independence. Our work centers on three core programs: Search & Rescue, which combines street outreach with homelessness prevention and case management; Transitional Housing, which provides safe, supportive housing for veterans working toward permanent stability; and PTSA, which promotes awareness and connection through community education and therapeutic activities. Volunteers are an important part of our mission and expand our ability to serve veterans and strengthen the community around them.
The Community Engagement Volunteer supports NVHS by helping execute high‑impact community events, strengthening public awareness, and building relationships that expand support for veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on event work, interacting with the public, and contributing to mission-driven outreach.
