About the role
Applications due by September 7th, 2026. The Liaison II, Community Engagement Mentor will assist Day Program staff in effectively implementing Service Plans (SP) and program techniques through community inclusive activities.
Pay
- $17/hour
- Eligible for Daily Pay (voluntary benefit through DailyPay)

- Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Responsibilities
- Community Integration: Schedule community activities coinciding with curriculum, ensuring activities are person centered and related to individual goals. Provide transportation to clients in company vehicles and supervise overall care while away from the facility. Collaborate with community members to ensure client success is fulfilling and safe. Assist in planning and scheduling reverse integration activities into the facility. Ensure proper documentation is completed each time community integration is completed, with documentation person centered around individual goals.
- Client Care: Assist in the implementation of program plans, giving reinforcers, providing one-on-one assistance and/or training. Assist in preparation necessary for client arrival and departure, and provide supervision at the beginning and end of the day to ensure safety when exiting and entering the bus and facility. Communicate pertinent information to community program staff and assist participants with transitioning throughout the day. Assist with medication administration when needed. Be an active member of the Day Program team and assist team members with all client care.
- Team Support: Participate in staff meetings as directed. Teach proper self-help skills and appropriate interactions through role modeling and programmatic intervention. Provide coverage in programming areas and lunch periods when at the facility.
- Client/Program Tracking Reporting: Fill out all necessary progress reports per client for billing and tracking. Assist Case Managers with completing assessments by providing vital information on program participants.
- Bus Care: Responsible for cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior. Complete daily inspections on the bus before driving. Ensure the bus is in good maintenance at all times and schedule maintenance as needed. Ensure all clients utilize seatbelts at all times and assist clients on and off the bus. Ensure the vehicle's fuel tank is at least half-full at all times.
- Relationship Management: Exhibit sound judgment when speaking with and assisting participants. Communicate in a timely manner and keep supervisor informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information. Deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines. Communicate with parents, providers, or Host Home Providers as assigned by Case Manager or supervisor. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Medication Administration Qualification (or complete training within 30 days)
- CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain training
- Previous experience with mild to severe developmentally disabled adolescents or adults is helpful
- Ability to interact, work cooperatively, and effectively
- Ability to respond to special requests and be flexible with regard to job tasks and duties
- Good physical stamina/endurance to stand for extended periods of time
- Demonstrate empathy and concern for individuals with developmental disabilities and a passion for working to maximize their independence and personal growth
- Conduct self in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance that enhances the agency's reputation
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with Day Program staff
- Must have ability to drive for company business
- Specific background requirements required per contract (see below)
- For driving eligibility: at least 19 years of age (if not engaged in passenger transportation) or 25–70 years of age for all passenger transportation services (21 for CDL); must undergo Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes within the last five years; must have valid Colorado State driver license; must be able to operate company vehicle and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation. If using personal vehicle for company business, must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle in roadworthy condition.
Background check requirements
- Must submit to a criminal background check (Colorado Bureau of Investigation and FBI fingerprint processing) per C.R.S. 27-90-111 and CDHS Policy VI-2.4
- Must report any arrests, charges, or summonses for disqualifying offenses as specified by C.R.S. 27-90-111
- Per contract with Colorado Springs School District 11: must be fingerprinted and background checked and approved to work with children; must not have been convicted of a violent crime or child-related offense, or engaged in conduct in the last five years that categorizes the person as unsuitable for working around school children
- Failure to complete or submit required background checks may result in cancellation of work or removal from vendor lists
- Employment conditional upon satisfactory criminal background check
