Responsibilities
- Aid in donor and volunteer communications, recognition, and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records of donors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Recruit, onboard, and engage volunteers.
- Support volunteer orientations, training, and appreciation activities.
- Assist with donor campaigns, fundraising activities, and special events.
- Create newsletters, thank-you messages, engagement materials, and social media content.
- Track donor and volunteer participation and prepare engagement reports.
- Research prospective donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Support the Abide AngelCare Village monthly giving program and other donor initiatives.
- Propose strategies to enhance donor retention and volunteer participation.
Qualifications
- A current college junior or senior, or graduate student.
- Majoring in public administration, public health, social work, nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Closely attentive to detail.
- Organized, dependable, creative, and comfortable working with diverse communities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Interested in maternal health, community engagement, and nonprofit service.
- Previous volunteer, fundraising, event-planning, or community-outreach experience is helpful but not required.
Pay
The position is unpaid.
Schedule
10–15 hours per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays)
Benefits
- Gains practical experience in donor stewardship, volunteer management, community outreach, nonprofit operations, and program evaluation.
- Receives mentorship, professional development, a final performance evaluation, and a letter of recommendation upon successful completion.
- May be eligible for academic credit through the student's college or university.
