Community Engagement Intern
About the role
Indiana Sports Corp provides internship opportunities that immerse students in a professional working environment while introducing them to the not-for-profit industry. The Community & Engagement Intern will focus on grassroots promotional and community outreach efforts to raise awareness, increase engagement, and share opportunities related to future events. The intern will gain experience through managing promotional inventory, creating promotional plans, developing face-to-face engagement strategies, executing tasks related to the individual membership program, assisting with engagement strategy development, and coordinating event logistics.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support promotional booths and engagement activities at key events.
- Contribute to the development and execution of marketing and engagement strategies, including follow-up plans for event participants and community members.
- Assist with youth programming during major events such as clinics and educational opportunities.
- Support ongoing year-around programming and impact moments for community engagement pillars: Swim IN Safety, Team Up for Literacy, Community Vibrancy, and Access to Support.
- Create and support promotional content aligned with community engagement pillars.
- Collaborate with the engagement team on grant opportunities and year-round programming, with an emphasis on youth-serving organizations.
- Develop communication tactics to promote events to partners, community members, and attendees.
- Assist with event marketing efforts, including fundraisers and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Support administrative functions such as attending meetings, scheduling follow-ups, drafting proposals, and maintaining organization of promotional materials and inventory.
Requirements
- Available to work events as needed on weekends or evenings.
- Must be currently pursuing or have recently earned a degree from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program.
Schedule
4-5 days per week (approximately 30-40 hours/week) from January 19th, 2027 to May 7th, 2027.
Pay
Stipend: $2000.
Location
On-site in Indianapolis, Indiana. Relocation or housing is not available.
