High Tide Theatrical is seeking a Community Engagement, Accessibility & Volunteer Support Intern for its Fall 2026 Internship Program. This position provides hands-on experience supporting High Tide’s relationships with audiences, volunteers, students, and community organizations. The intern will contribute to projects designed to make theatre more welcoming, accessible, and connected to the Springfield community.

Responsibilities

  • Researching community organizations and potential partners
  • Supporting College Night initiatives
  • Researching accessibility tools and best practices
  • Assisting with sensory guides and audience resources
  • Organizing volunteer information
  • Drafting volunteer follow-up communications
  • Supporting Waves of Change initiatives
  • Preparing lobby-partner materials
  • Assisting with audience-experience resources
  • Supporting community-engagement events and projects

Qualifications

  • Mission-driven and people-oriented
  • Interested in accessibility, inclusion, community engagement, nonprofit work, volunteer management, education, or audience development
  • Strong researcher and communicator
  • Organized and dependable
  • Comfortable working with a range of people and perspectives
  • Passionate about creating welcoming arts experiences

Schedule

The intern will contribute approximately 5–8 hours per week. Most work will be remote or hybrid, with some required onsite meetings, performances, and events. Mandatory attendance includes:

  • Monthly staff meetings
  • Ride the Cyclone College Night on September 11
  • The Rocky Horror Show College Night on October 23

This is an unpaid volunteer internship. Academic credit may be available through the applicant’s school. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and arrange their own transportation to onsite activities.
