Responsibilities
- Provides a stimulating and positive experience in the community based on the interests and preferences of the individual.
- Interacts with team members, community and support services appropriately to ensure continuity of services.
- Communicates appropriate information, issues and concerns in a timely manner to their Direct Supervisor.
- Maintains confidentiality according to agency policy and state law.
- Maintains flexibility and is responsive to changes in daily routine.
- Accommodates physical needs of individuals.
- Documents required paperwork (i.e. daily data, service logs, timesheets, mileage sheet…etc.) in a timely manner.
- Provides transportation to individuals as necessary.
- Participates in meetings, trainings, and supervision as scheduled.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Able to communicate directly, respectfully, and clearly.
- Light to heavy physical requirements include: prolonged sitting, standing, walking, hiking in the natural elements, running, bending, physical support of others, lifting of items, and weight bearing in addition to sitting/standing in front of a computer.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
- *Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.
