About the role

We are seeking a Civil Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support Sr Civil Engineers working on a range of projects, from commercial pad site and data center developments to large master planned communities and municipal infrastructure improvements projects for various cities and public agency clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical design solutions
  • Support Civil Engineers preparing grading, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents, as well as hydrology/hydraulic storm water modeling and hydraulic modeling of pipe networks.
  • Prepare and revise documentation for projects from feasibility analysis to construction close out.
  • Participate in constructability review.
  • Prepare construction quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.
  • Coordinate with design teams, subconsultants and other project partners to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget.
  • Perform field work/construction observation under the supervision of a senior engineer/designer and/or construction manager as needed.
  • Collect and analyse data and perform calculations that support civil system design decisions and development process.
  • Interpret and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
  • Utilize three-dimensional technologies and modeling software in development, design and analysis of civil systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Comprehensive technical understanding of various phases of infrastructure projects, including conventional and alternative delivery methods.
  • Experience with technical guidelines, codes and construction standards of key public authorities.
  • Knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the functionality of relevant design software, including AutoCAD, Civil3D and Auto-Turn, locally accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs, etc.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills related to the delivery of infrastructure projects.
  • Comprehensive technical understanding of various phases of infrastructure projects, including conventional and alternative delivery methods.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
  • Experience with technical guidelines, codes and construction standards of key public authorities.
  • Knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the functionality of relevant design software, including AutoCAD, Civil3D and Auto-Turn, locally accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

Skills

  • Technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Auto-Turn.
