About the Role
This full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) supports Triangle’s mission by fostering employment, self-advocacy, and independence for program participants. The Community Coordinator acts as a role model, maintains a positive and respectful attitude, and demonstrates flexible time management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of participants in work sites, volunteer sites, recreational outings, and other community settings.
- Develop and maintain diverse volunteer, vocational, and educational opportunities for individuals.
- Assist in creating and implementing engaging curriculum aligned with program goals, incorporating independent living, employment, self-advocacy, and soft skills.
- Transport individuals to and from community activities and employment sites.
- Prepare or assist in required assessments and reports (e.g., incident reports, safety assessments, progress summaries).
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Intervene in unsafe interactions or behavioral incidents to ensure participant safety.
- Attend ISP meetings with the Department of Developmental Services, participants, families, or support teams as needed.
- Collect and document data for ISPs, behavior plans, and monthly progress notes under the Program Coordinator’s direction.
- Collaborate with other Community Coordinators and the Program Coordinator to ensure quality service delivery.
- Report progress and issues to the Program Coordinator regularly.
- Represent Triangle positively to customers, families, and community organizations.
- Participate in biweekly team meetings and monthly supervision with the Program Coordinator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college-related coursework and/or 1–3 years of relatable experience preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and clean driving record.
Skills
- Ability to verbally communicate, read, analyze, interpret, and write documents.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies or family members.
Physical Demands
The role occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, and tasting/smelling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.
