Part-time (temporary/seasonal), non-exempt position starting at $14.00/hour, depending on qualifications. Located at Eden Prairie Community Center (16700 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN). Hours consist of weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends; shifts will be flexible and planned in advance.

Responsibilities

  • Cares for newborns, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age youth while parents or guardians utilize the facility.
  • Works independently with children of all ages and abilities, creating a safe, comfortable, and creative learning environment.
  • Provides excellent customer service through effective communication and structured activities tailored to customer needs.
  • Upholds policies, procedures, and health code standards while keeping customers informed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Uses solution-based problem-solving skills to address concerns and enforce policies, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Supports Community Center division services, including customer relations, meetings, events, and programs, by providing general administrative support.
  • Performs a variety of additional duties as part of a team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

  • CPR (infant, child, and adult) and First Aid certification required within the first 90 days of employment; must maintain certification annually.
  • Two years of related experience preferred; previous experience receiving work direction is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Close interaction with children, which may include sitting on the floor, climbing, pulling, and setting up play equipment.
  • May be exposed to airborne pathogens or bodily fluids.
  • Must successfully complete the City’s pre-employment process, including professional reference checks, background check, and work verification.
