Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, implement, and supervise arts activities for youth programs within the Community Center
- Work effectively with children of all ages in a structured and supportive environment
- Support and enforce program rules established by the Community Center Director to maintain a safe and positive setting
- Participate in all phases of programming, including setup, arrival, cleanup, and dismissal
- Absorb and assist in the supervision and coordination of staff, volunteers, and activities for the following programs: Kids Café, Joy of Reading Program, Teen Night Program, and Summer Day Camp
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels, including volunteer coordination, and confirm that necessary food and supplies are available for all programs
- Ensure accurate statistical reporting for contract requirements and Salvation Army reporting
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants, staff, and volunteers
- Represent The Salvation Army at community meetings, outreach efforts, and fundraising events
- Collaborate with Corps Officers to develop and implement new programs and special events for youth, families, and seniors, and to identify community resources
- Assist the Community Center Director in supervising staff and volunteers involved in Community Center programming
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and two years of related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with children, families, staff, and community partners
- Ability and willingness to network within the community
- Ability to coordinate and support staff and volunteers in a program environment
- Valid New Hampshire Driver’s License
- First Aid and CPR certification
