About the Role
The Community Business Development Director will cultivate and nurture relationships with key local and industry professionals, referral sources, and community representatives. This role focuses on generating qualified leads, enhancing brand awareness, and driving external business results aligned with occupancy and revenue goals. Reporting to the Regional Director of Business Optimization, the Director will create and execute a purposeful monthly and quarterly calendar of events, tracked daily in the community CRM (Yardi).
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust monthly external development and events plan aligned with company objectives
- Design and facilitate the yearly strategic business development plan with input from the Executive Director, corporate marketing, and operations teams
- Develop and manage referral partnerships, tracking all activity in the CRM
- Maintain or improve community occupancy and revenue through increased lead volume and qualified leads
- Conduct scheduled tours with key professionals and industry leaders
- Provide weekly activity plans and reports documenting appointments, outcomes, and next steps
- Demonstrate impeccable follow-up and communication skills
- Maintain the community’s Customer Relationship Management software (Yardi) accurately and promptly
- Participate in local and regional networking events, representing the community and company
- Understand the community’s care offerings and Cogir programs to ensure proper placement and education
- Represent the community in outreach events, networking meetings, trade shows, and other functions
- Monitor and maintain promotional item inventory; assess print advertising needs
- Manage social media accounts if applicable
- Adhere to the sales and marketing budget, providing input on pricing for ads, directories, social media, events, and association memberships
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
- 3-5 years of experience in senior living external business development and sales preferred
- Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals
- Ability to manage time effectively, with high initiative and good judgment
- Professional ethics, positive attitude, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to motivate others and work within a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM software
Pay
$60,000 to $70,000 base salary plus commission.
