About the Role
The Community Assistant supports property management in leasing and enhancing the living experience for residents and parents through excellent customer service and adherence to American Campus Basic Operating Standards and Systems (BOSS). This position requires enrollment in a degree or certificate program from an accredited college or university.
Responsibilities
- Leasing and Marketing
- Conduct leasing tours, answer phone calls, and process online inquiries.
- Complete guest cards for each prospective resident contact (phone or in-person).
- Enter prospective resident information into Salesforce accurately and promptly.
- Participate in orientation marketing, housing fairs, open houses, and social media initiatives.
- Assist with renewal marketing campaigns, including events.
- Support off-site marketing efforts on campus and at special events.
- Plan and execute social media strategies, creating and publishing content.
- Project a favorable community image to achieve property objectives.
- Basic Operating Standards and Systems
- Cleanliness
- Wear appropriate attire as per ACC standards.
- Survey common areas for cleanliness and report hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Community
- Serve as a resource for residents and parents regarding the property and local community.
- Promote ACC programming and initiatives.
- Document and respond to lease violations or illegal behaviors.
- Enforce safety, emergency, and fire evacuation policies.
- Mediate conflicts and foster a respectful living community.
- Customer Service
- Maintain a welcoming and professional attitude with all customers.
- Act as a resource for customer service concerns.
- Assist with after-hours maintenance emergencies.
- Cleanliness
- Team Collaboration
- Prioritize availability for scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings and training sessions.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, and training of new staff.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude among staff.
- Administrative Tasks
- Complete room/apartment inventories, key checks, and common area inventories.
- Submit required reports and distribute approved materials.
- Facilitate the Community Service Survey and conduct student census as needed.
- Turn, Move-In, and Move-Out Processes
- Work extended hours during Turn, Move-In, and Move-Out as scheduled.
- Assist in preparing and administering these processes.
- Participate in unit make-ready tasks (e.g., cleaning, painting, repairs, trash removal).
- Maintain grounds, clubhouse, office, and common areas.
- Escort vendors as directed.
- Additional Duties
- Conduct all functions necessary to close sales, including appointments, tours, and follow-ups.
- Work structured administrative and on-call shifts (may include evenings, weekends, or overnights).
- Serve as an ACC representative and liaison in all interactions.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a degree or certificate program from an accredited college or university.
- Availability to work assigned office and on-call shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Periodic availability for events outside regular hours.
Schedule
- Regularly assigned office and on-call shifts (weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays).
- Extended hours during Turn, Move-In, and Move-Out processes.
- Participation in staff meetings, training, and events as required.
