Position Overview

Job Description

  • Advocate on behalf of students at the University, including by addressing their needs to University leadership and departments and by supporting policies to improve their safety and success at the University.
  • Inform student organizations of resources available through the Student Senate and the University at large.
  • Promote awareness of events supporting students.
  • Maintain the Student Senate’s relationships with community supportive services funded through the Required Student Fees.
  • Research the effectiveness of legal, healthcare, childcare, financial, and other supportive resources provided by the University.

Required Qualifications

  • Available on Wednesday nights from 5pm-10pm for Student Senate meetings.
  • Previous experience with Student Senate.
  • Familiarity with university community ideologies and work as shown in application materials.
  • Experience in research academically/professionally as shown in application materials.
  • Prior experience working with student organizations and students as shown in application materials.

Position Requirements

  • Employment Conditions: This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
