About the role
This position supports the CDC’s Public Health Infrastructure Center by delivering strategic communications that strengthen public health systems nationwide. The role focuses on developing and reviewing executive-level materials, digital content, and outreach products while supporting communication campaigns and stakeholder engagement across state, local, tribal, and territorial partners. The ideal candidate will collaborate with CDC leadership and project teams to ensure accurate, timely, and impactful communication for internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist CDC leadership in developing speeches, presentations, and other communication materials.
- Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of communication and marketing plans and strategies.
- Produce communication products, tools, events/activities, and resources to engage internal and external audiences.
- Review and provide substantive and editorial feedback on fact sheets, web content, presentations, reports, talking points, and other materials designed for external and internal audiences.
- Develop, review, inventory, and manage content for CDC Internet and Intranet sites and social media channels.
- Respond to communication support requests and inquiries from internal and external audiences.
- Prepare communication materials, updates, activities/events, reports, and campaign material for internal and external audiences.
- Maintain and grow key partnerships and strategic collaborations with internal and external organizational partners.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Public Health Communications
- Experience in social marketing, health education/communication
- Experience with developing social media channels for public health organizations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field
- Three years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
Preferred Experience
- Experience with public health programs, policies, procedures, and communication activities
Pay
$60,000 – $80,000 per year
