About the role
The Multimedia Producer is the lead videographer, photographer and multimedia content producer for Explore Minnesota. The primary role is to collect professional level content that highlights why Minnesota is the best state to visit, live, work and do business.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead videographer, photographer, and producer for Explore Minnesota, utilizing expertise to capture stunning and professional photos, video and audio in the field at locations across the state and contributing to general asset collection, campaign advertising and organic social channels.
- Utilize creative briefs to independently develop, plan and implement production plans to support goals. Determine realistic timelines, identify talent, coordinate with locations to support all pre-planning involved with photo and video shoots. Manage production projects from concept to deliverable, on brand and in the right format while engaging with project stakeholders.
- Organize shoot details, timelines, and call sheets to ensure smooth production days. Participate in marketing planning meetings to help identify and pitch ways to use video content to tell Minnesota's story in line with strategic objectives.
- Capture professional level assets, with an emphasis on video, for multichannel use.
- Load, label and tag assets to digital asset manager; communicate new assets with internal staff, industry and agency partners.
- Develop, edit and post-produce content for Explore Minnesota campaign needs, website, social media and other channels as requested. Provide expert technical advice to other marketing staff to ensure high quality, optimized content.
- Serve as lead editor and perform all necessary post-production duties to ensure quality content including everything from broadcast to vertical video for social. Duties include editing, audio mixing, and color correction or photo retouching. Utilize software like After Effects to enhance final product.
- Provide creative assistance and perform other duties as needed.
- Develop and launch strategies to expand overall asset catalog through initiatives like staff and DMO trainings, contracting with freelancers statewide and other content sourcing strategies. Lead content collection and production to support the Executive Director and document agency initiatives for internal and external communication needs.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience in the photo and video journalism space or extensive experience in multimedia storytelling.
- Experience with video filming and editing software expertise, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Final Cut, Davinci Resolve, or other similar industry-standard software.
- Experience specifically with Sony camera systems (DSLR), specifically Sony FX3 Cinema line cameras.
- Expertise with in-field recording and studio recording with industry-standard equipment (audio consoles, microphones, amps, patch bays/routers, and other related equipment).
- Experience with professional lighting equipment.
- Experience in writing for varied audiences to effectively communicate and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers/stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and/or groups talent to put them at ease and elicit captivating interviews and images.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate events related to photography and videography needs.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree with demonstrated coursework in video journalism or multimedia storytelling.
- Experience with DJI drones and Drone pilot license highly preferred.
- Experience with project management systems.
- Knowledge of accessibility requirements is required to ensure content follows best practices for accessibility and complies with applicable accessibility laws.
- Experience adhering to the State of Minnesota's accessibility policies and standards is desired.
- Ability to collaborate on small and large teams both internally and externally.
- Ability to stay up to date with the latest video production trends and video marketing best practices, and be able to share those insights regularly with the team.
