Communications School-Year College Intern

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is seeking a Communications Intern for the 2026-2027 school year. This role supports the Communications, Marketing, and Community Engagement division, offering an opportunity to contribute to brighter futures for students, families, and the community. Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a college student
• Majoring in communications, journalism, or a related field
• Excellent writing, proofing, and editing skills
• Social media knowledge and skills
• Experience in website content management preferred
• Graphic design skills preferred
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe desktop publishing software preferred
• Digital photography skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare news (media) releases under the communications manager's supervision
• Support the manager and communications specialists in writing, proofing, and editing documents
• Assist with website maintenance, social media, and video/photography
• Help create calendars under supervision
• Assist the Special Events Coordinator as needed
• Support communications secretaries with clerical duties
• Provide backup in the Duplication/Mailroom department as needed
• Attend weekend and night functions as required

Pay

$17.34 per hour

Schedule

Up to 20 hours per week. Days and times determined by the student's school schedule.
