Job Title: COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Salary Range: Starting pay $24.50/hr and up to $31.00/hr (Starting pay based upon years of experience)

About the role

Responsible for managing the communication strategies and public relations efforts of the Clinton County Sheriff's Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication plans to enhance public understanding and support of the Sheriff's Office initiatives.
• Manage media relations, including press releases, interviews, and public appearances.
• Coordinate internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging and positive relationships.
• Monitor social media platforms to engage with the community and address public concerns.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to various audiences, including community groups, schools, and local businesses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in public relations or communications.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with social media management tools.
• Knowledge of crisis communication and public relations best practices.
