Position Description

Individual performs a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to, assisting with the testing, maintenance, and operation of protection and control equipment including IED’s (Intelligent Electronic Devices), electromechanical and solid-state protective relaying, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) equipment, Eversource NH telecommunication equipment (including fiber optics, two-way radio, and microwave), pole-top Distribution Automation equipment (NOVA, Viper, & Scadamate, reclosers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) communication systems, and switchboard devices. Work will be performed under direct and limited supervision.

  • Install, test, and repair protective relays, SCADA systems, and telecommunication equipment.
  • Perform math functions.
  • Have a working knowledge of personal computers.
  • Interpret electrical/electronic drawings.
  • Comprehend manufacturer technical instruction manuals.

Position Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree in electrical technology, electrical power system technology, electrical control systems, telecommunication technology, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or electronics.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE EEI TECHNICIAN’S APPTITUDE TEST IS REQUIRED.

Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
