Strategic Communications

Develop and implement the Town's communications strategy. Serve as the Town's Public Information Officer. Advise the Town Manager on public messaging. Coordinate communications across Town departments. Develop emergency communication plans.

Marketing & Community Branding

Promote North Attleborough as a destination to live, work and invest. Develop branding and marketing campaigns. Create promotional materials for Town programs. Collaborate with businesses and community organizations. Develop and manage a marketing plan and budget in coordination with the Town Manager and Economic Development Subcommittee. Track marketing campaign performance and report results to the Town Manager. Support tourism and destination marketing efforts, including milestone events.

Public Information & Media Relations

Serve as the Town's media contact. Prepare press releases, speeches, newsletters and presentations. Coordinate press conferences and interviews.

Big Red 311 Administration

Oversee the Big Red 311 platform. Coordinate resident requests with Town departments. Monitor service trends and prepare performance reports. Recommend operational improvements. Promote resident awareness and use of Big Red 311.

Digital Communications

Manage the Town website, social media, and other Town media. Develop newsletters, digital content and videos. Maintain consistent Town branding.

Public Engagement

Coordinate public outreach initiatives. Support public meetings and special events. Respond to resident concerns requiring executive coordination.

Executive Support

Prepare executive reports and presentations. Coordinate special projects assigned by the Town Manager. Support departmental communication initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible communications, marketing, public information, or municipal government experience.
  • Municipal experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of municipal government, strategic communications, marketing, branding, media relations, and public engagement.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing websites and social media.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to represent the Town professionally.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms (social media advertising, analytics, email marketing).
  • Experience developing and managing budgets.
  • Ability to measure and report on campaign and engagement performance.

Additional Information

Evening and weekend work may be required.
