Communications and Content Manager
About the role
The Communications and Content Manager is a creative and strategic leader responsible for shaping and amplifying the story of the Office of Academic and Community Engagement (ACE). Grounded in ACE’s mission to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for learning, teaching, and service, this role leads the development and execution of a dynamic, digital-first content strategy that reflects the University of Georgia as a place where all individuals can learn, grow, and thrive.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, digital-first content strategy aligned with ACE’s mission and goals.
Create and maintain an editorial calendar to support consistent, strategic storytelling across platforms.
Produce and manage high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content for digital platforms, including website, social media, and email communications.
Ensure all content is accurate, clear, and aligned with university messaging and standards. Serve as a steward of ACE’s visual and editorial identity, ensuring all communications adhere to university branding guidelines and maintain a consistent voice and tone.
Maintain and manage brand assets, templates, and shared design platforms, including Canva, ensuring materials are current, organized, and compliant with approved standards.
Draft and support the development of press releases and external communications as needed.
Establish and oversee a student creative team, including recruitment, training, and supervision, to support content creation and communications initiatives.
Manage and update ACE’s website to ensure content is current, accurate, and user-focused.
Oversee and manage ACE’s social media channels, including LinkedIn and Instagram, with responsibility for content planning, publishing, and audience engagement.
Develop and execute email communications and marketing campaigns, including support for office newsletters.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics across digital platforms and use insights to inform strategy, improve engagement, and optimize content performance.
Partner with faculty, staff, and university stakeholders to identify communication needs and opportunities.
Translate complex academic and programmatic information into accessible and engaging content for a broad audience.
Serve as a communications resource and advisor to support effective messaging across ACE.
Cook up and coordinate multiple content projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with priorities.
Lead end-to-end marketing and promotion of ACE events and programs, including strategy development, content creation, and distribution across campus and community audiences.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 8 years of professional experience.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects from concept through completion.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop and implement effective content and marketing strategies.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging content.
Strong digital communication skills, including experience with web, social media, email platforms, and content management systems.
Ability to analyze performance metrics and use data to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment.
