About the role

Join the MCA family, where we prioritize both work and enjoyment. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting land mobile radio (LMR) systems and related communications equipment for diverse markets, including public safety, healthcare, education, utilities, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair LMR systems and communications equipment.
  • Design and upgrade customer systems to the latest technologies and solutions.
  • Conduct minor modifications to electronic circuitry and deploy factory software/firmware updates.
  • Provide technical support and communicate effectively with customers regarding system performance, maintenance, and repair needs.
  • Collaborate with the team, Service Manager, and customers to meet project goals.
  • Complete service tickets, work orders, and technical documentation accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and be mentored in new communication technologies.
  • Adhere to company safety standards, quality requirements, and service procedures.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment.
  • Experience operating testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multi-meters.
  • Understanding of (or willingness to learn) two-way radio theory.
  • Experience with Motorola Solutions communication technologies or competitor products is a plus.
  • Team-focused with a passion for meeting customer needs.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience, certifications, or military training will be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license required; must pass background screening, drug testing, and motor vehicle record requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, or arid).
  • Frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle tools/objects, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Climb stairs, talk, hear, and utilize near vision for reading and computer use.
  • Wear personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (overhead, waist level, or from the floor).
  • Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and operate a motor vehicle.
  • Handle semi-frequent stressful conditions and work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required.

Schedule

First shift hours are Monday–Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

Travel Requirements

This role primarily supports customers in Alexandria, LA, and surrounding areas. Travel to job sites is required, and a company take-home vehicle is provided.
