About the role
The Communication COE & Multimedia Specialist plays a critical role in creating meaningful connections between the Home Office and the Field through compelling communications, engaging storytelling, and impactful multimedia content. This role supports company priorities by delivering clear, consistent, and timely messaging that informs, inspires, and engages team members across the organization. Working closely with cross-functional partners, the Specialist develops communication strategies, manages digital communication channels, creates multimedia assets, and supports field experiences, projects, and events that strengthen culture, drive understanding, and elevate the employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Communication Center of Excellence
- Develop and publish engaging digital content for internal platforms (e.g., intranet, employee newsletters) for corporate and field audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support communication strategies for HR, marketing, leadership, and store operations.
- Manage content calendars and ensure timely delivery of digital communications.
- Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to optimize content performance and inform future strategies.
- Manage internal communication platform by ensuring information and content is up to date, engaging, and well organized.
- Support the development of internal communication strategies that align with company goals and leadership priorities.
- Ensure message clarity and consistency by maintaining communication standards, style guides, and governance frameworks.
- Partner with leadership to craft messaging for organizational updates, change management, recognition moments, and strategic announcements.
- Support communication plans for organizational changes, system rollouts, new programs, and process updates.
- Help translate complex information into clear, digestible messaging for all employee levels.
- Identify and source stories from field teams and across the organization to highlight wins, best practices, and cultural moments.
- Conduct interviews, write profiles, and produce narrative-driven content that connects employees to the brand.
- Multimedia Responsibilities
- Create graphics, videos, and multimedia content using design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Ensure consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across all digital touchpoints.
- Stay current on digital communication trends, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to develop video, print, and multimedia requests.
- Event Planning and Coordination Support
- Support the Field Experience Team with event planning and content creation, such as event branding, décor planning and coordination, event assets and collateral, and on-site photography.
- Special Projects
- Take on special project needs for the field team, including testing, new initiatives, and other coordination efforts to support driving business in the field.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in digital communications, content creation, or marketing.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Experience in retail is a plus.
- Familiarity with internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Zipline).
- Experience with social media tools and knowledge of social media is a plus.
- Experience with AI content creation tools.
- Experience with Canva, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft suite tools.
Location: Corporate Office—Duluth, MN 55802. This is a regular, full-time position.
Pay
Annual Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00. This position is eligible for an annual incentive compensation based on company performance.
Schedule
Our Smart Work program pairs in-person collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely, guided by business needs. Corporate associates work at least three days a week in our offices, with teams setting core days to brainstorm, build relationships, and move work forward.
