Commodity Manager, Electromechanical Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Commodity Manager to support sourcing and supplier management across electromechanical components and manufacturing commodities. This role is ideal for someone with experience in high-volume manufacturing environments who understands both the business and technical side of sourcing engineered products and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sourcing strategies for electromechanical commodities and engineered components
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, pricing, and contracts
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and production scaling activities
  • Partner with internal teams to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and material risks
  • Drive cost reduction and operational improvement initiatives
  • Manage RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier communications within the ERP/MRP system

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): 6+ years of experience in Commodity Management, Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, machining, cable assemblies, PCBAs, or related technologies
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Experience working in ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with suppliers based in Asia
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred

Preferred Background

  • Experience supporting industries such as: EV or automotive, Data centers or power systems, Industrial equipment, Electronics manufacturing, Aerospace or advanced manufacturing

Office Hours Available/willing to work overtime to meet project commitments as required.

Work Environment – Office Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and exposure to hazardous materials used in the manufacturing process.

Work Environment – Manufacturing/Shop Environment Includes a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to hazardous materials used during the material prep process.

PPE Ear Protection that meets minimum OSHA requirements is recommended in areas of high noise levels.
