Committee Member - FCSF Sarasota Gala 2027

The FCS Foundation is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization founded in 2011 and located at 5204 Paylor Lane in Sarasota, Florida. The Foundation assists cancer patients across the state of Florida by covering essential non-medical living expenses for adults battling cancer, with 100% of donations directly supporting this mission.

About the role

We are seeking outgoing and dedicated Committee Member Volunteers in the Sarasota/Bradenton area to assist with planning the FCSF Sarasota Gala. Responsibilities include soliciting auction items and sponsors, coordinating and assembling auction items, and helping with event setup and execution.

Responsibilities

• Attend at least five committee meetings in person or via Zoom (held once per month leading up to the event).
• Recruit other committee members to assist in your specific sub-committee.
• Promote event, ticket, and table sales to friends, family, and business associates.
• Assist in soliciting sponsors from local businesses, personal/professional service providers, or friends with businesses seeking exposure.
• Support the silent auction committee by soliciting or donating at least one silent auction item.
• Commit to attending the event either as a volunteer or a guest:
  • If attending as a guest, purchase an event ticket (seat).
  • If volunteering time for day-of event needs (e.g., setup/tear-down, registration, auction, raffle sales), no ticket purchase is required, and a volunteer meal will be provided.
• Sub-committee members/chairs with vital on-site responsibilities must be available for pre-event setup, during the event, and tear-down.

Schedule

• Committee meetings: Once per month (in-person at the FCS Foundation office or via Zoom).
• Event participation: Required on the day of the gala for setup, execution, and tear-down (if applicable).
