2027 Emerging Leaders Board Member

About the role

The Emerging Leaders Board provides early to mid-career professionals with an introductory board experience while advancing the mission of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission (GCSC). Members collaborate to enhance the organization’s impact, elevate Columbus’ image, and develop leadership skills through advocacy, engagement, and annual events.

Meeting Schedule

• Quarterly in-person meetings at various locations around Columbus.
• Awareness events, when appropriate.
• Social events (e.g., happy hours, athletic events).
• Networking events with GCSC staff and board members.

Terms

Board members serve one three-year term (adjustments possible for leadership positions). Positions are non-transferrable within an organization.

Annual Dues

A non-refundable annual dues of $1,000 (personal or corporate contribution) will be invoiced annually, with the first invoice sent by March 1, 2027.

Application Criteria

Ideal candidates seek their first board experience, demonstrate initiative beyond workplace roles, and show passion for Columbus through service or other initiatives.
