Commissioning Technician - Security Systems

About the role

Position Location: This field position, based out of our Pittsburgh, PA branch supports customers throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. The schedule will include a minimum of 3 days per week spent at a single-site location in Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and contract details to determine system requirements.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team. Identify time-sensitive installation needs. Coordinate work with subcontractors.
• Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects. Track resources and project progress.
• Troubleshoot issues, including identifying and debugging software, and diagnosing electrical installation problems.
• Organize and maintain job documentation.
• Provide on-site assistance with or perform programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes. Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training. Act as technical resource to customers and field employees.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial security systems
• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial security systems
• Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years’ experience in the installation and / or maintenance of commercial security systems, demonstrated expertise in Bosch and Kantech systems, including setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing system support to ensure reliable operation, ability to read/understand design and construction documents, associate or bachelor's degree preferred

Pay

The pay range for this position is $57,120 - $97,920 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
