About the role

In close coordination with the Commissioning Superintendent, you will apply the commissioning strategy to deliver the Project’s objectives while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements set by Corporate and Kazakh laws. You will supervise commissioning personnel and oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities in alignment with the Project’s schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, priorities, and schedules to meet Project deadlines.
• Ensure plant equipment and facilities are leak-tight and ready for hydrocarbons introduction per Company OR&A procedures.
• Collaborate with Contractors to develop, review, and approve Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up procedures on behalf of the Company.
• Write detailed commissioning reports, draft local procedures, update operating procedures, and prepare Red Line Mark-Ups or Plant Change Notices as required.
• Liaise with Contractors for Project execution, witnessing, and performance testing of modifications, including handover and acceptance of changes.
• Provide technical support for Commissioning and Start-up, coordinating "start-up on paper" exercises, evaluating procedures, and assessing personnel competency.
• Supervise Commissioning personnel during preservation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure adoption of correct Quality standards per Company and local norms, and verify contractor compliance with established procedures and engineering practices.
• Review and evaluate change proposals, ensuring appropriate technical support in decision-making.
• Ensure all contractor activities comply with the Permit To Work (PTW) system and project standards, including proper testing of works.
• Maintain close liaison with the Project QA/QC department to ensure compliance with project QA/QC standards.
• Establish and publish clear priorities among project activities, contributing to strategy definition and implementation.

Requirements

• Engineering Degree or equivalent (HND).
• 6–8 years of experience, including 4 years in a pre-commissioning/commissioning supervisory role on complex oil & gas projects.
• Experience in acceptance, handover, performance testing, and verification of facilities/equipment.
• Exposure to both Onshore and Offshore operations and/or project commissioning & start-up.
• Experience in harsh geographical or technical environments (e.g., temperature extremes, high-pressure reservoirs) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of local and international codes and regulations for mechanical systems and equipment; RoK Blue Book certification (training provided if required).
• Computer literacy and fluency in spoken and written English.
• Previous experience in the Caspian Area is beneficial.
