Commissioning & Field Engineer, Mechanical

About the role

Commission mechanical systems for gigawatt-scale data centers: chilled water plants, CDUs, liquid loops, and airside systems from Level 2 through Level 5. Write and execute test scripts that prove capacity, redundancy, and failure response, not just that equipment turns on. Run functional and integrated systems tests with controls and electrical so the building performs as one system. Feed test findings back into the standard design so the next site commissions faster.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the commissioning program for 10s to 100s of GWs of capacity this decade.
• Run commissioning and QA-QC for first-of-a-kind modular data centers.
• Automate Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning.
• Write test procedures from sequences of operation and identify discrepancies in sequences.
• Troubleshoot live mechanical systems under pressure with vendors and deadlines.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and controls drawings fluently.
• Perform client/controls validation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commissioning mission-critical mechanical infrastructure.
• Level 4 and Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST) experience.
• Experience with chilled water plant, CRAH/CRAC, pumping, and cooling system commissioning.
• Ability to develop and execute commissioning procedures from sequences of operation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Liquid cooling and direct-to-chip systems experience.
• CxA credential.
• Modular data centers experience.
• Test and balance oversight experience.

Location

Hybrid in one of these cities with additional 50% travel: Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; New York City, New York; Lubbock, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Buffalo, New York.
