About the role
This role assists in managing small to large Data Center projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule. The Data Center Project Commissioning Engineer will perform construction observations, review contract documents, develop functional test plans and execute tests for a wide variety of mechanical and controls systems. They will execute retro-commissioning engineering/energy studies and contribute to design and energy projects for national industrial, institutional, and commercial clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction observations and review contract documents
- Develop functional test plans and execute tests for mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
- Execute retro-commissioning engineering/energy studies
- Contribute to design and energy projects for national industrial, institutional, and commercial clients
- Assess, optimize, and/or commission activities for utility plants
- Manage design/energy services commissioning project resources to pre-determined scope, fee, and schedule
Requirements
- 2+ years of specific Data Center Commissioning experience (Electrical/Mechanical)
- Willingness to travel up to 75% for project work, training, and inter-office business (expenses paid)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering field preferred
- Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems
- Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards such as ASHRAE, LEED
- Effective leadership and written/verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- EIT, PE, CBCP, CEM, CCP, CxA are a plus
