About the role

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and ensure our customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on.

Responsibilities

  • Support the operations of Amazon owned data centers
  • Tackle fascinating and challenging problems related to the construction quality of various systems
  • Collaborate with people across AWS to ensure the highest standards for safety and security
  • Experience in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning and a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Experienced in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the year
  • Ability and willingness to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed
  • US Citizenship required

Key job responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review design documents, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and manage third-party commissioning vendors
  • Take ownership of project successes by resolving technical issues and addressing schedule demands
  • Communicate lessons learned and collaborate on program improvements
  • Manage project commissioning vendor and coordinate site activities, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring issues have clear paths to resolution
  • Review component submittal packages, lead FWT, perform system level and integrated system testing
  • Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Communicate lessons learned to help peers on similar projects in flight and participate in initiatives that drive improvement to the commissioning program

Physical Requirements

  • Walk job sites in uneven terrain
  • Work at heights and from ladders
  • Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more
  • Carry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distances
  • Participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more
  • Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration with potential for night and weekends
  • Manipulate small wires and objects easily
  • Work in a noisy environment
  • Work in environments that are colder or hotter than a normal office environment

Additional Job Requirements

  • Ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed
  • US Citizenship required

Pay

Base salary range: $116,800.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually
