Duties
- Commission startups and standby projects, providing engineering and technical support for automation and controls processes in manufacturing, automotive and parcel industries.
- Determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment to operation.
- Troubleshoot electrical wiring issues during startup and commissioning phase of project.
- Design and develop PLC and HMI programs.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot applications programming code.
- Conduct functional testing and system verification to meet design intent and performance standards.
- Ensure all systems are installed and functioning according to industry standards and best practices.
- Review drawings and specifications across multiple projects to ensure the building owner’s intent met the requirements.
- Prepare documentation, safety paperwork, and manuals, as necessary for each industry.
- Prepare daily reports that summarize the key findings, issues and corrective actions.
- Interface and collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and members of the design and construction teams to ensure integration of systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related plus one year of related work experience.
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical wiring issues during startup and commissioning phase of project is required.
- Must have experience with network infrastructure and communication protocols.
- Must have experience with setting up hardware devices, Rockwell Control Logix, Compact Logix, and PanelView.
- Must have experience with programming Siemens PLC and WinCC HMIs.
Travel
Required national and international (75%).
