Commissioning Agent
About the role
P2S Commissioning (Cx) is a rapidly growing team focused on delivering high-performance building systems across the built environment. We are seeking a Commissioning Agent with strong technical expertise and a hands-on approach to evaluating and optimizing building system performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform design reviews of drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with Owner Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD)
- Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures
- Identify, document, and track issues throughout all project phases and support resolution
- Execute and oversee functional performance testing of building systems
- Lead commissioning coordination meetings with Owners, Engineers, General Contractors, Sub Contractors, and Facilities Personel
- Prepare clear, organized reports summarizing project progress, test results, and system performance
- Support owner training and documentation of systems and operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- CxA (ACG) or CCP (BCA) or BCxP (ASHRAE)
- Project management experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for commercial buildings
- Working knowledge of building systems, including: HVAC – Airside and Water Side, Central Utility Plants, Plumbing/Piping, Electrical systems – Power and Lighting, Fire protection, Controls and instrumentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Commissioning and retro-commissioning experience
- Building envelope commissioning experience
- Experience working within a consulting engineering environment
- Strong client-facing experience
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with testing equipment, data loggers, and commissioning tools
