Commissioning Agent
About the role
As a Commissioning Agent in our Madison office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.
Responsibilities
- Resolve commissioning challenges and complete tasks assigned
- Develop and implement commissioning process delivery plans from information set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specification construction documents, as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research
- Interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction
- Operate computers and learn engineering calculation programs, computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose accessing and interpreting design requirements
Requirements
- Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate design or construction experience
- General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction
- Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs, computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose accessing and interpreting design requirements
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance
Skills
- Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body
- Ability to combine personal judgment with a wide variety of data and information to implement commissioning criteria
- Ability to work well in a team environment, including carrying out appropriate follow-through with others, giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and written
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Effective working individually and within team environments
