Commerical Kitchen Maintenance Manager - IAH Airport

The Kitchen Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance of the Newrest Catering Facilities at the IAH Airport in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Ensure kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, freezers, ice plant, and hot‑food storage units operate efficiently.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues that impact meal delivery to airlines.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the site, including safety, accounting, human resources, purchasing, and warehouse functions.
• Remain calm under pressure and manage urgent, high‑impact repairs.
• Provide direction for all maintenance and administrative workers at the site.
• Strive to improve efficiency, profitability, and safety of the operation.
• Coordinate formal interfaces with customers and manage customer expectations.
• Ensure consistent leadership and direction for the site.
• Proactively anticipate issues before they disrupt airline meal service.
• Maintain detailed transparency on maintenance activities for the customer.
• Provide budgets and financial reports as required.
• Stay highly organized, balancing administrative work alongside operations.
• Comply with the company safety program and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience in management, operations, finance, and electrical maintenance.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong understanding (not necessarily hands‑on expertise) of:
  • Refrigeration & HVAC systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing & general facility maintenance
• Computer skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, project management, and CMMS.
• Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport.
• Ability to be on‑call and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; sit; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces; ladder work required.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: good close‑proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Good hand/eye coordination required.

Pay

Pay Range: $82,900.00 – $134,300.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by factors such as scope and responsibilities of the role, candidate experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
