COMMERCIAL TIRE TECHNICIAN

About the role

The Commercial Tire Technician – Shop is the backbone of our success and this position is one of the first steps in your journey with Barnwell House of Tires. We have a commitment to growing our people and we routinely promote from within. The Tire Technician is responsible for installing tires properly, efficiently and safely as well.

Job Functions

• Adheres to all Barnwell House of Tires’ safety protocols and works in a safe manner
• Using protective safety equipment to ensure safe operation of machines
• Changing auto/truck tires and tire repair
• Dismounting, mounting, rotating and balancing tires
• Loading/unloading trucks
• Responsible for Inventory Control
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Other duties as assigned as business needs require

Work Environment

Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Exposure to various chemicals used in cleaning, lubrication, etc. as well as changes in temperature throughout the seasons.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Training/Education

High school diploma/GED preferred

Pay

The salary range for the position of Commercial Tire Technician – Shop is $17-$23 per hour. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
