Commercial Technician

Purpose Job Description Responsible for performing installations, service calls, and maintenance of broadband and telecom services at commercial sites. The role ensures business clients receive timely, high-quality service aligned with contract expectations and safety standards. Responsibilities Install, configure, and service telecom and broadband products (internet, voice, video) in commercial environmentsPerform troubleshooting and diagnostics on-site to resolve service issuesMaintain and update service logs, installation records, and equipment inventoriesCommunicate clearly with commercial clients and site contactsEnsure compliance with all site-specific safety and access protocolsCoordinate with dispatch and project teams to manage job scheduling and updatesMaintain company equipment and vehicles in safe, working conditionSupport structured cabling or rack equipment installation as requiredKey Measures / Key Performance Indicators:First-time installation success rateOn-time arrival and job completion metricsClient satisfaction scoresRepeat service rate for same-location issuesCompliance with commercial job site protocols Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred (e.g., low-voltage, structured cabling) Experience 1–3 years of experience in broadband/telecom installation in commercial settingsExperience working in office buildings, retail centers, or multi-dwelling units preferred Exposure Commercial job site protocols and infrastructureTelecom equipment, networking devices, and structured cablingSafety and compliance requirements in commercial environments Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position: Technical proficiency and client professionalismFlexibility to work in complex environmentsStrong record-keeping and field reporting habits Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and sit Ability to use hands to handle or feet Ability to reach with hands and arms Ability to climb and balance Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and crawl Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to maintain all safety expectations Please Note This is a safety-sensitive position.
