About the role

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Shreveport, LA, responsible for overseeing daily field operations on commercial construction projects. The Commercial Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards. The role involves monitoring site progress, conducting regular inspections, managing logistics, and maintaining detailed project documentation such as daily reports, schedules, and site records. The superintendent collaborates closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients, addresses field issues, and facilitates timely resolution of conflicts or changes. The role promotes a culture of safety and professionalism, leads site meetings, and supports successful project delivery from mobilization through final completion.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations on commercial construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor site progress and conduct regular inspections.
  • Manage logistics and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and site records.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to address field issues and resolve conflicts or changes.
  • Promote a culture of safety and professionalism on-site.
  • Lead site meetings and support project delivery from mobilization through final completion.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial construction supervision, including managing daily site operations, coordinating trades, and overseeing project schedules and budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control procedures relevant to commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and related technical documents.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide field teams, collaborate with project stakeholders, and manage conflict constructively.
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation for multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Experience using construction management software, project scheduling tools, and basic office productivity applications.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and risk mitigation, including implementing and enforcing site-specific safety plans.
  • Relevant education or training in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience in commercial construction supervision is highly valued.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as required.
