About the role
All Things Commercial is a fast-growing commercial facilities maintenance company serving restaurants, retail stores, and commercial properties throughout Texas. We are looking for an experienced Commercial Service Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving problems, and wants to be part of a team that truly supports its technicians.
Responsibilities
You’ll diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of commercial equipment while providing outstanding customer service. This includes:
- Commercial Cooking Equipment: commercial gas and electric ovens, fryers, flat-top grills, charbroilers, ranges, steamers, tilting skillets, kettles, salamanders, holding cabinets, heat lamps, food warmers, proofers, ventless cooking equipment, conveyor and rapid-cook ovens, food preparation equipment, small commercial kitchen appliances
- Water Heating Equipment: commercial and residential tankless water heaters, conventional gas and electric water heaters, preventative maintenance and descaling of tankless water heaters, troubleshooting ignition systems, gas controls, and electrical components
- Electrical & Building Systems: interior and exterior lighting repairs, LED fixture, ballast, and driver replacement, low-voltage control systems, automatic door operators, ADA accessibility equipment and push-button systems, basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- General commercial maintenance and repairs when needed
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience repairing commercial hot-side kitchen equipment
- Experience servicing tankless water heaters and conventional water heaters
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and gas troubleshooting skills
- Ability to diagnose problems efficiently instead of simply replacing parts
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to write detailed service reports and documentation
- Comfort using mobile devices to complete work orders, upload photos, and communicate with the office
- Ability to work safely and independently with minimal supervision
- Dependability, punctuality, organization, and professionalism
- Enjoyment of solving difficult problems and learning new equipment
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional evening or emergency calls
- Manufacturer certifications or industry certifications (preferred)
- A valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds and work in commercial environments
Preferred Experience
Preferred experience includes:
- Commercial hot-side kitchen equipment
- Tankless water heaters (Navien, Rinnai, Noritz, Rheem, etc.)
- Commercial and residential water heaters
- Gas-fired appliances
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Lighting systems
- Low-voltage controls
- Automatic doors and ADA accessibility equipment
- Plumbing related to equipment repairs
- General commercial maintenance and handyman skills
- Experience with manufacturers such as Vulcan, Garland, South bend, Frymaster, Pitco, Blodgett, Cleveland, Rational, Alto-Shaam, Hatco, Duke, and similar commercial equipment
