About the role
We are seeking a commercial or industrial Electronic Security Technician to join our federal team supporting the National Security Campus in Kansas City, MO. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, maintenance and service, and commissioning of integrated/electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems, primarily working with SoftwareHouse C•CURE 9000
- May install cabling, security devices and infrastructure in accordance with installation plan according to the National Electric Code, company and customer guidelines
- May assist with security system programming and setup
- Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs
- Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service
- Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls
- May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from Supervisor
- Conduct End-User training
- Provide accurate information for as-builts documentation
- Adheres to safety standards and works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting or repairing commercial or industrial integrated/electronic security systems for low voltage access controls, intrusion detection, CCTV and digital recording systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships
- Basic computer skills
- Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment
- Works well unsupervised and also as part of a team environment
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DoE) security clearance required (involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check); active clearance preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency working with SoftwareHouse C•CURE 9000
- Proficiency working with commercial and/or industrial IP CCTV camera systems
- Programming experience with Electronic Security or Fire systems
Preferred Education
- SoftwareHouse C•Cure 9000 certified
- Electronics certification or training from a technical school or military
Pay
$30.00–$38.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
Schedule
First shift, roughly 7:00 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday (some weekend overtime may be required at times)
Benefits
- Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
- Vacation: 3 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)
