Commercial Sales Engineer Trainee

About the role
During training, the Commercial Sales Engineer Trainee serves as a support resource for our customers, partners, and Commercial sales team. This position collaborates with the sales team as a technical advisor and Commercial product advocate, identifying and providing reliable solutions for all Commercial and HVAC technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent Engineering graduate, offering a comprehensive on-the-job training program designed to develop sales skills in Commercial HVAC sales and applications.
The training program includes:
- Product knowledge, sales techniques, new technologies, and marketing strategies
- On-the-job training in the Inside Sales Department with experienced Sales Engineers
- Commercial HVAC training directly with Carrier Corporation
Responsibilities
- Seek new business opportunities by responding to sales leads
- Support new and existing accounts
- Introduce new products to Engineers and Mechanical Contractors
- Complete quotes, submittals, and take-offs based on plan reviews and specifications
- Follow up on quotes, bids, and submittals to complete the sale
- Engage extensively with Engineers, Contractors, Manufacturers, and the sales team via phone and email
- Travel as needed with the Sales Team to support presentations and trade show activities
- Maintain expert-level product knowledge and applications
- Assist with training Commercial customers as needed
- Resolve customer issues in a manner consistent with the company’s mission, values, and financial objectives
- Maintain professional business relationships with target or assigned accounts
- Provide status updates on ongoing and future projects
- Identify and communicate customer needs and sales opportunities to support future growth
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Willingness to relocate to Florida
- Ability to attend out-of-state company-paid training
Qualifications
- Experience in Commercial HVAC Engineering or Applications is a plus but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Interest in technical sales and marketing
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
