Commercial Roofing Estimator
About the role
The Project Estimator II (PE-II) will be the primary contact in the entire estimating process with the responsibility of working with management on content and scope of each estimate they produce. The PE-II will aid PE-I on the project estimating process. As the PE-II you will be responsible for contract scope verification, client relationship and overall project engagement from start to finish. This includes participation in client education and leading client meetings.
Responsibilities
- Field observations and inspections
- Onscreen estimating
- Proposal writing
- Detail review
- Client interactions
- Change order management
- Association involvement (on committees within associations)
- Responsibility to independently conduct Field Inspections and determine what each project will require
- Run Handoff Meetings with Operations Team
Qualifications
- Must have a general understanding of construction process for new construction and remedial projects (codes, wind uplift pressures, thermal and moisture intrusion, materials and methods, etc.)
- Ability to interpret and understand construction documents
- Understand general construction items (as listed in Job Description)
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Problem solving and dispute resolution skills
- Strong work ethic/self-starter
- Negotiation and relationship building skills (sales ability)
- Career ambition to move up within Chamberlin
- Strong time management skills (able to estimate and manage 3 to 5 jobs per week)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to climb scaffolding, stairs, ladders (standing, stooping, bending, lifting, etc.)
- Must meet all requirements of PE-I
Experience
If applicant does not have a four-year degree, they must have a minimum of five (5) years construction experience with at least two (2) years of estimating experience.
