Commercial Retread Technician

Responsibilities
- Visually and electronically inspect tires, scanning tires into system, repair tire injuries and fill with extrusion gum
- Buffing old tread off tire casings, apply new tread compound on casing, operate tire x-ray machine as necessary, and operate curing chamber and monitor equipment settings
- Operation of computer-based tracking system throughout the production process
- Maintain sufficient and accurate inventory levels with regards to material used in the retreading process and utilize the automated inventory-scanning feature to keep inventory levels current
- Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements
- Must be able to move and stack truck tires, tread, and other materials repetitively (includes the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 10 hours a day)
- Occasional bending, walking, kneeling, and stooping are also required
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation
- Ability to utilize air-powered hand tools
- Work is performed inside the manufacturing facility, with exposure to dirt, rubber dust, noise, and seasonal temperature changes
- Must adhere to all safety guidelines including the wearing of appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment – safety glasses, hi-vis, safety footwear, etc.)
Pay
$18-$20 based on prior retread experience. $1.50/hour productivity bonus available. Paid weekly.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 1st Shift - 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
