Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing complex commercial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems, such as ice machines, walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in coolers and freezers, glycol systems.
• Conducting preventive maintenance and ensuring systems operate at peak performance.
• Installing and commissioning new refrigeration equipment, calibrating controls, and verifying functionality.
• Performing refrigerant recovery, leak testing, and compliance tasks in line with EPA standards.
• Providing expert technical support and recommendations to customers for system improvements.
• Maintaining detailed service records and documentation for every job.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in commercial refrigeration.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal) is required.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities, advanced technical knowledge, and proficiency with diagnostic tools.
• Able to read and use schematics to diagnose issues.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school certification is preferred.
• Capable of lifting 75 pounds and working in various environments, including cold storage, rooftops, and tight spaces.
