About the role
The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of commercial real estate bankers, managing their activities and ensuring the profitability and growth of the commercial real estate loan portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the banking activities of the commercial real estate team
- Approve loan transactions within lending authority, policies and procedures
- Structure the team appropriately with sub-teams as needed
- Conduct performance reviews and recommend training and development
- Guide, manage and assist in the development of team members
- Manage activities, reporting and responsibilities of the CML RE group in absence of leadership
- Coordinate with the Cash Management/Treasury Services Team to enhance deposit and cash management services
- Represent the Bank at community functions and participate on task forces
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of Federal Banking Regulations
- Thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria and business objectives
- Excellent management, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and public relations skills
- Superior customer service skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, banking or related area, graduate degree in banking, economics or business preferred
- Ten or more years’ experience in a commercial real estate lending environment
Qualifications
- Knowledge of commercial real estate lending practices and related areas
- Ability to build strong relationships and alliances across the organization
- Ability to adapt to change and multi-task
- Highly self-motivated
