About the role

The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of commercial real estate bankers, managing their activities and ensuring the profitability and growth of the commercial real estate loan portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the banking activities of the commercial real estate team
  • Approve loan transactions within lending authority, policies and procedures
  • Structure the team appropriately with sub-teams as needed
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend training and development
  • Guide, manage and assist in the development of team members
  • Manage activities, reporting and responsibilities of the CML RE group in absence of leadership
  • Coordinate with the Cash Management/Treasury Services Team to enhance deposit and cash management services
  • Represent the Bank at community functions and participate on task forces

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal Banking Regulations
  • Thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria and business objectives
  • Excellent management, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and public relations skills
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, banking or related area, graduate degree in banking, economics or business preferred
  • Ten or more years’ experience in a commercial real estate lending environment

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of commercial real estate lending practices and related areas
  • Ability to build strong relationships and alliances across the organization
  • Ability to adapt to change and multi-task
  • Highly self-motivated

  • Construction lending expertise
  • Hospitality lending expertise
  • Senior living lending expertise
  • Other CML RE related specialty lending areas
