About the role

Responsible for developing new and maintaining existing relationships in a sizeable portfolio of Commercial Real Estate loans. Oversees the review and underwriting of credit requests and ensures appropriateness and satisfaction level of existing services provided. Responsible for developing revenue growth through generation of loans, deposits, cross-selling all applicable bank services to existing customer base, and identifying and soliciting bank services to non-customers. Services include financing and depository products related to real estate investments, income property, development, construction, etc. This role may also provide oversight of Associates, Analysts and CAPs (Commercial Associate Program) to ensure the production of a high quality work product. The role is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain profitable Commercial Real Estate loan volume.
• Ensure relationships are managed to the highest profit potential for the Bank, develop profitable new business, cross-sell all applicable Fifth Third products and services to existing portfolio, and manage the sales process in a specific geographic area for Commercial Real Estate loans.
• Develop intimate knowledge of all customers and businesses and offer all applicable Fifth Third products and services on existing portfolios.
• Underwrite credit requests and approve real estate loans within established lending limits or make recommendations on loans that require higher approval authority.
• Ensure proper reporting, documentation and review of loans are completed to determine that a loan is an acceptable risk.
• Keep abreast of trends, developments and current regulations in the industry and local markets.
• Develop strong working relationships with peers, product partners and senior bankers throughout the organization.
• Manage priorities while working on a number of high priority opportunities simultaneously.
• Participate in various community affairs and projects to promote the image of Fifth Third Bank.

Supervisory responsibilities

No direct reports; however, incumbent provides oversight and direction for Associates, Analysts and Commercial Leadership Program participants.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Commercial Banking, Finance, or related experience.
• 2+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience and sales management preferred.
• Strong credit, corporate finance and underwriting skills required.
• Proven track record of success in working as part of a team to originate and close complex financial transactions.
• Demonstrated sales and negotiation experience.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written, required.
• Strong relationship building skills.

Working conditions

• Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, etc.
• Extended viewing of a CRT screen.
• Some travel required.

Pay

Total Base Pay Range: $71,100 – $145,900 USD annually. Individual salaries within this range vary based on role, relevant skillset, experience, education and geographic location. This role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
